The Full Story
It was 2019 boxing day, we were heading to Matamata,
Te Poi to visit family. I had been shopping hours before leaving to go on holiday and I was so distressed that I couldn't find underwear and bras nice enough let alone big enough to fit me. I am a curvy woman I'm not shy to say, but however I did get embarrassed so I left the shops and decided not to buy anything. As we are on our trip I had realised I took a pen and paper so I could scribble because I get really bored when travelling. I started thinking, what if I designed some underwear and bras for us curvy ladies so we can be in comfort and style. I then started drawing and scribbling a few items I could possibly get made up to sell as a small business. I now had to come up with a name and I wanted something that made me feel important, accepted and beautiful.
Long story short I came up with Kīngi and Kuīni but however after speaking to a few seamstress I did not end up designing bras and underwear but I did decide to put the names on T-shirts, Hoodies, Pants, Shorts, Dresses, Mugs, Bags and more. And this is how my business started and I can say there has been a few hurdles I have ran into but I kept going because I know when I succeed it will be all worth it! RoyalTee fits.
